The location is ideal for exploring this wonderful corner of Cornwall and there are many award winning beaches, beautiful coves, fishing harbours, villages and local attractions only a short drive away. It is ideal for walkers as we are also close to this rugged stretch of the South West Coast Path.
Local Pubs & Restaurants
St Keverne is 2 miles away and contains a number of shops and two pubs (the White Hart and the Three Tuns). Coverack (also a couple of miles), where you can enjoy a meal and a few drinks at the Paris Hotel or pick up some take away fish and chips at the Lifeboat House restaurant. The Five Pichards Inn in the charming village of Porthallow also has excellent food and a good selection of beer! Also at Porthallow is the Fat Apple Cafe which serves a delicious breakfast amongst many other things.
Kynance Cove
Kynance with it’s white sand, rock towers and turquoise sea, has been voted one of the best beaches in the world. Often very busy in the summer, the car park can be full by 11am so arrive early to avoid disappointment.
Helford river
A picturesque large estuary renown for its marine ecology. The inland creeks can be explored by boat and the river is an excellent base for water sports including kayaking , sailing and snorkelling. The ferry journey from Helford to Helford Passage is an experience not to be missed.
Diving at Polkerris
Polkerris is a secluded cove which has some of the best shore and boat diving found in the UK. Here you will find Porthkerris Divers which is a family run, family friendly, beach front dive centre.
Coverack
Has a stunning harbour and a beautiful beach. It is a great spot for watersports with windsurfing particularly popular here.
Poldhu
A sandy sheltered beach on the west coast of the Lizard. A favourite for surfers and wildlife watchers.
Gunwalloe
Gunwalloe Church cove is a small but charming beach and has a popular pub, the Halzephron which offers tables outside with views right across Mount’s Bay.
Further Afield
If you fancy leaving the Lizard you can visit St Ives, Lands End and Falmouth all within easy reach for a day out.
